Plays In A Day is a returning tradition of Wig and Candle. This is the second annual Plays In A Day and it is always such a wonderful experience. The concept is as follows: At 7 PM on a Friday night the writers meet with Wig and Candle representatives to get a prompt word, they then have until the next morning to write a 10 page One Act, then directors get their script and meet with their assigned actors to prepare to perform the One Acts at 7 PM Saturday night.
This year Wig and Candle had audience members vote on their favorite One Act. The writer of the winning performance gets to expand their One Act into a longer play for Wig and Candle to produce as their Spring Play. The image on the left is of the winning play "Offerings" written by Sitara Effat Ahangari. Directed by Ian Hopkins and starring Julia Toyer and Finley Regan. |
